The General Council Business Committee is delighted to congratulate the following distinguished alumni who were crowned series champions in the recent final of University Challenge broadcast on BBC2 on Hogmanay Team Captain Miles Jupp, Actor, writer and comedian and Divinity graduate of 2005 Catherine Slessor MBE, Critic, editor and writer on Architecture, graduate of 1983 Thomasina Miers, Chef, food writer and restaurateur, co-founder of Wahaca and graduate of 1999 Professor Phil Swanson, Academic and critic specialising in Latin American history and culture, graduate of 1984 Members of the General Council are encouraged to share in raising a toast to the victors and we hope their achievement augurs well for a successful year ahead for the University.
